Can you imagine a king being told to take out the trash or do the dishes? David was already anointed to be the next king of Israel when he was home tending sheep & doing chores. To make it worse, he had to go to the army camp like a servant girl to give his brothers food. David didn’t complain or argue but he stayed focused on his purpose. What do you think would have happened if David disobeyed his parents & refused to take food to his brothers?

David was created for a great purpose & so were you. God has given each & every one of us a mission in life. What do you think David’s mission & purpose in life was? It wasn’t to kill the giant or become king, it was to lead people to God. Jesus gave all of us that same mission & it is called The Great Commission. Telling others about Jesus & showing the world God’s love is The Great Commission. It’s our greatest purpose. To complete our mission, we need to be fully covered in God’s spiritual armor. David couldn’t wear Saul’s armor because it didn’t fit but he wore God’s spiritual armor daily & he was protected, victorious & fully covered.
