TELL THE STORY OF THE RESURRECTION & GREAT COMMISSION IN MATTHEW 28

Mary had a special encounter with Jesus & he told her to go tell the disciples & she did exactly what Jesus told her to do, but even the disciples didn’t believe Mary at first. It wasn’t until they had their own encounter with Jesus that they believed he was alive & risen from the dead. After Jesus appeared to his disciples, he gave them their mission to go & make disciples out of everyone in the world, so they may be saved, baptized & taught to obey God’s word.

As Christians, this is our greatest mission in life. Jesus has all the authority in Heaven & Earth & he has given it to us to be ambassadors for God. To be an ambassador means to be a representative. Nations & kingdoms will send ambassadors to speak to kings & other nations of the world & that ambassador will have the authority to speak on behalf of the nation or kingdom that sent them. What they say, how they act & everything they do represents the entire nation he or she is an ambassador for. As Christians, we are part of God's family and also ambassadors for all of Heaven. We represent God & it is our mission to boldly tell others about Jesus. We've had a special encounter with Jesus by hearing God’s word, knowing in our hearts that Jesus died for our sins, accepting Jesus as our Lord & receiving salvation & forgiveness from our sins. Because of this, we will live forever in Heaven with Jesus & because God loves us so much, he wants this for everyone. It’s our mission to bring the world the message of God’s love.

As ambassadors of Heaven, our words must always line up with our actions. It’s important to always obey God’s word & represent God in the way we speak, act & treat others. Our mission is to not only tell others about Jesus but also to teach them to obey God. It’s impossible to teach someone how to do something without showing them. The greatest leaders lead by example. By simply living your life in the way God wants you to so others can see how you live & follow your example, you are teaching & leading others.

When you tell others about Jesus, don’t be discouraged if they don’t believe right away. They will have their own special encounter with Jesus & you might not always be there when it happens & that’s okay. It’s so exciting to be a part of God’s kingdom & to be entrusted with such an important mission. You are God’s warriors & ambassadors & you’re being sent out to recruit others so they too may inherit the Kingdom of Heaven through Jesus!
